Block Viber Contacts
If you find that someone is being very annoying or you are getting unwanted messages from an unknown person, you can easily block their phone numbers on Viber. Before going ahead with the actual steps to block Contacts on Viber, here is what happens when you block someone on Viber.
The blocked person will not be able to send you Messages or Call your Number The blocked person will be unable to add you to a Viber group The blocked person won’t be able to see your online status or changes that you make to your profile.
While Viber does not send any notifications when you block people on Viber, the blocked person is likely to assume that you have blocked him/her if they are unable to Call or send Messages to you.
Block Viber Contacts on Android Phone
Follow the steps below to block Contacts on Viber using Android Phone
Open Viber and tap on the Chats tab (in case you are not already there).
Next, open the Chat of the person you wish to Block
On the Contact’s Chat screen, tap on the Contact’s Name and then tap on Block this contact option in the slide over menu that appears (See image below)
As simple as that! – This contact will no longer be able to bother you with unwanted Calls or Messages. Instead of the Chats screen, you can also make use of the Contacts screen to Block Viber Contacts. This can be helpful when you are unable to find the Chat of the person that you want to block on Viber.
- Open Viber and tap on the Contacts tab

Block Viber Contacts on iPhone
The procedure to block Viber Contacts on iPhone is a bit different compared to blocking Viber Contacts on Android Phone.
Open Viber and tap on the Chats tab (in case you are not already there)
Next, open the Chat of the person that you wish to Block
On the Contact’s Chat screen, tap on the Contact’s Name and then tap on Chat Info & Settings option in the drop-down menu that appears.
On the Chat info screen, scroll down and tap on Block this Contact option.
The selected Contact is now blocked on Viber and won’t be able to Call or Message you on your iPhone.
Unblock Viber Contacts on Android Phone
If you change your mind or you had blocked someone by mistake, you can follow the steps below to Unblock Viber Contacts on Android Phone.
Open the Viber app on your Android Phone and tap on the 3-line icon located at the top left corner of your screen.
From the ensuing slide over menu, tap on Settings
3. Next, tap on Privacy and on the Privacy screen tap on Block list (See image below)
- On the Block List screen, you will be able to see the list of people that you have blocked on Viber. From this list locate the Contact that you want to Unblock and tap on the Unblock Button located next to the Contact’s name.
The selected Contact is now unblocked and will be able to Call and Message you on Viber.
Unblock Viber Contacts on iPhone
The interface to Unblock Contacts on Viber on your iPhone is a bit different compared to Unblocking Viber Contacts on Android.
Open the Viber app, tap on the 3-dot icon located at the bottom right corner of your screen and then tap on Settings in the menu that appears.
On the next screen, tap on Privacy and then tap on Block List
3. On the Block List screen, tap on the Unblock button located next to the Contact that you want to Unblock on Viber.
